Mcalister's Deli - Valparaiso

The staff was not friendly at all; when we asked for an extra fork, they seemed puzzled. The dining area was messy, with paper littering the ground and food falling on the floor. Dirty dishes were left piled on tables for over half an hour after we arrived. Despite being there for 35 minutes, the restaurant was nearly empty, with fewer than 10 customers present. I’m giving this place 2 stars because the meal was very disappointing, customer service was lacking, and the slow service was frustrating. They have signs asking for patience due to being short-staffed, yet I counted six employees working. Sure, there are worse places to eat, but there are definitely better options out there as well. Lastly, I used the women's restroom, which resembled a truck stop. There was urine on the seat, grime on both sides of the door, and mess on the floor. Both stalls had paper and soap, along with a wrapped table, but that wasn’t enough to compensate for the overall poor experience.

That was fantastic! I couldn't believe how large the baked potatoes were! The service was quick and friendly, and the restaurant was clean and comfortable.

I usually think highly of this place, but recently I've noticed a decline in the quality of their offerings. We even had to speak with a manager about an issue we encountered. They seem to be using smaller portions (perhaps due to a supply chain problem?), and the cups have changed to generic styrofoam ones, which are half the usual size, yet they still charge the same price. When we inquired about refills, we were told that they are unlimited and that most customers come back 4 or 5 times for refills. However, we didn't receive any. While the situation was eventually addressed, I was surprised that they appeared to hope nobody would notice these changes!

Very disappointed by this place. the potato soup tasted like water. my man got a spit you could say was old and reheated. the pickle that came with my food looked like he was recycled and had taken out of it. not to mention dust down to the tables and on the serviette holders. I ate back in 2018 and eating was amazing. I'm not sure what happened to this place, but I'll never go back.

I decided to stop here for lunch because I haven't been here before and after looking at the menu online I saw there were lots of choices so it sounded good.Meh is really the best I can offer ?I had the pick two with chicken salad sandwich and potato soup. The chicken salad wasn't bad not a lot of flavor but overall pretty good and thankfully not full of celery like a lot of chicken salad. Not a very big amount of chicken salad on there which was kind of disappointing it was maybe a tablespoon or two.The potato soup, however, was the most bland and boring potato soup I have ever had. Literally taste like it came out of a can... Absolutely no flavor very few actual potatoes... Imagine mashed potatoes liquefied and that pretty much covers it.Service was okay the guy at checkout was very very polite. From what I saw with an interaction with another customer they were very upset about their portion size not being consistent from the last time they ate there which I totally understand.Overall it was $15 including a $2 tip that I put on there before even getting my order which I'm fine with. Honestly though the food itself was not worth the $13.Cleanliness wise no complaints. I did use the bathroom and the door is very difficult to stall and you basically have to squeeze in and out.Probably won't be coming back here just feel very disappointed in the amount of money it cost for a very bland meal. But thank you too Matthew who was very polite.
