I can't say anymore, please give it to me!
This restaurant seems to have changed it's name. When we visited last week it was called Restaurante Bar Nelson. Anyhow, no matter what they call themselves this is one awful place. We studied the menu and thought it looked ok but my partner wanted salad...with her pork steak instead of the chips. The waiter eventually agreed and off he went. Beer was served and that was good, but when food arrived my partner had chips and no salad, pork steak tough, my veal was poor and the chips were of the frozen type with no taste. Not wanting to make a fuss and as it was cheap we decided to eat up and pay and take it as a lesson learnt. That's when another problem arose, this place does not accept cards and it was lucky I had enough Euros on me to pay!! Do yourself a favour and give this place a wide berth.
I've come here everytime I come to Lisbon and have a grilled fish here. The owner's English isn't great but I'm not going to blame the guy! The first time I came, the restaurant was filled with old Portuguese grandparents and that's when I knew...this place was legit. You're offered the local Portuguese cheese with bread to start, and you can choose between a bunch of seafood and meats here. We ended our lunch with a great espresso. You cant complain about the price here it was about per person after all the drinks and apps. Don't come here looking for something fancy, come here to try the fresh seafood local Portuguese eat.
We visited these nice restaurant server times during our stay in lissabon. the place makes them feel home and eating is great. make sure to try the codfish, a bhs that is the local speciality. we tried the wein villa real, both white and...red are excellent and not expensive.
The waiter spoke no English so when we tried to order cheese, I pointed to the cheese I wanted and he shook his head and pointed to the one below. I took that to mean they were out of the first and said yes and...nodded. We were brought out three little cheese wheels which I thought was what we ordered. When we received our bill, the charge was much higher than it should have been, and when we asked what he seemed to say was that he brought us one of the first cheese that he shook his head to and two of the second one that he pointed to. I don't know why he shook his head when I pointed to the first cheese and why he brought us two of the second. So that was very frustrating. But the omelet that we also ordered was way too salty and the rest of the food mediocre. This was the most expensive meal we had our entire stay in Lisbon and by far the worst. Would never recommend going here.
