I ate it anyway, but was a bit disappointed about it because it runs through a hard bind tissue. the huh and the buzz were good. we had a really excellent mondeuse with main course. then dessert I had an exceptionally good salted caramel cream brûlée one of the best desserts in a long time. that there was a really nice note when the patron several bottles likör on our table placed and announced “self service”. attractive decoration added to the ambiente although I am not sure about jazz music. 155 for four.
It began with a great greeting by the host, very generous with wein and strata. his wife is the cook and she makes a super job. best tartiflette at all (no, tartiflette is not an ordinary court here! only local products of the best quality here....High recommended!
This restaurant has several strong assets: great quality food at correct prices (for what you get), charming interior (a kind of old shop, very causy), and an excellent host, entertaining his guests with plenty of charm. We had a memorable evening, with 8 friends.
Excellent meal this Sunday afternoon on a lovely terrace, quiet because hidden behind the office of Tourism of Valloire. For starters we tried the snails in a croquille meaning an edible shell, they were 6 snails served piping hot in their sauce, with different...flavors to choose from. For the main course, my dad chose the scallops in curry sauce, I choose the deboned trout, grilled to perfection, (I even ate its skin , with grilled slivered almonds, in an elegant dressing, with wild rice and green beans andtiny pearls of alternating orange and green cantaloupe. My daughter chose the ribs, served on a gallow , not sweet like when done with Barbeque sauce but lacqued with a honey glaze, like the skin of a Péking duck served with excellent homemade fries and salad. My son had a Tartiflette. For dessert we tried the all caramel desserts and the all chocolat desserts with equal luck: 3 delicacies served on a plate, one from the oven, the other frozen, the third one a mousse. My kids shared a Myrtille tort with home-made whipped cream. At the end of,our meal, Frank the owner came with 4 bottles of Digestive liquor: two Chartreuses, Suedois, Genepi, and brought a shot glass for each adult, and left them on the table fot us to choose from and serve ourselves. We did not ask for them, I have never seen this done in a restaurant. All these were offered to us free of charge, and we di taste as many shots as we wanted. Apparently Frank offers them to every client. So ,for the quality of the food (cooked by Sylvie, Frank 's wife , the presentation of the plates, the lovely flower jars on the terrace, the gift of free shots of digestive liqueurs, I give five stars.
Hidden behind the tourist office you will find this little gem of hospitality run by Sylvie and Franck. I 've been here already with smaller and larger groups and all my guests did relish the time they could spend in the Le Chalet des Saveurs . The...dishes, cooked by Sylvie are delicious, beautifully arranged and perfectly prepared. The event of being here as a guest is a wonderful experience not only for the food. There is Franck, running the service in the restaurant. He brings professional attitude, service orientation, perfect communication skills and a kind of attentiveness to your table that is hard to find. We will come back. With the feeling of retiring to friends.
