Auberge Gardoise - Vallérargues

We have never been disappointed with the food or the friendly, young Professional staff, who must be hand picked, always nice plus most speak English. We run a B&B (www,lesmarronniers.biz) a few miles aways, We always try to send them our guests, never had one return with out saying what a great restaurant. We have had guests who go there every evening, rather then drive in to Uzes.

Our first visit this summer to celebrate the wife’s birthday. Mother in law in attendance so everything needed to be spot on. The Auberge was exceptional, service perfect, good English spoken and attentive to our needs, Mum is 88 and old school. The Mis en Bouche was a delicious creation based on mousse of garden peas with tiny little croutons and a surprise of fresh peas lurking in the bottom of the shot glass. Fois Gras, fresh chutney and brioche, heavenly. Followed by Canard, cooked to perfection, just a hint of pink and accompanied by a potato pesto purée with fresh vegetables, artichoke and carrot. Cheeses served with home made chutney followed by a very special Chocolate Tartlette, raspberry sorbet and fresh raspberry. All washed down with local wine from Baron near Uzes. Exceptional value and the wife thanked me with a huge hug later whilst Mum snoozed. Thank you Gardoise for another delicious birthday celebration. Robert.

I was with a couple of friends, and we were looking for a place to have breakfast when we noticed this beautiful mas and decided to give a try. The waitresses have been very professional and kind. They brought all kinds of local specialties, from the bread to the cheese, from the eggs, bacon and ham to the jam and the croissant: all very good! (Beh... una nota per i miei cari amici italiani: siamo pur sempre in Francia, non vi aspettate un caffè all'italiana qui...). And if they still have it, I suggest you the special cheese they offer is somewhat GREAT! All the abundant breakfast for 10eur. Also the place all in stone and iron, both inside and outside is very well kept and beautiful, I could suggest it also for a couple... ;)A very well kept lawn, trees, an hammock, so sweet!Ah they also have parking.Very lucky to "stumble" into it!Suggested!!!

We stopped here on the way back from Lussan. We had lunch in the garden under lovely shady trees. The garden was excellent and adjacent to fields of sunflowers.We chose the Cochin , the Meagre fish and the steak fillet.My piglet was lovely, beautifully cooked and presented.The others enjoyed the fish and my husband described his fillet as one of the best.The staff were both friendly and extremely correct.The rosé was cold and crisp- perfect accompaniment !On such a lovely warm day it was hard to leave.

The food and service were both excellent and it is in a beautiful setting with lovely gardens and a beautiful pool.
