We couldn't have asked for a more wonderful experience. The town is beautiful, filled with rich culture and history, gorgeous architecture, and best of all, it contains our new home away from home, the one and only Tellus Bistro. As visitors to the town, we wanted to try as much of the local flavor and art as we could get our hands on. Delicious street food vendors, wonderful local shops and galleries, and home-made pulque on the side of the road by a woman who looked like my grandmother. One day we were walking along and saw a sign for this restaurant. We decided to pop in and check it out. The first thing we noticed was how hip the place seemed. My girlfriend and I are from Southern California, we have some of the trendiest and most popular restaurants in the world in our own backyard. Tellus Bistro made us feel like we were right back at home. It was amazing to find a place like this, nestled away in Valle. The food was to die for, it is immediately apparent how much effort is put into the dishes they serve here, incredible fusions of flavor and presentation. There was a full bar, complete with espresso machine, we immediately gravitated towards this as we walked into the restaurant for the first time. We struck up a conversation with the lovely bartender, who is actually the wife of the head chef of the restaurant. We quickly realized we had something in common, she and her husband were from Los Angeles as well. She told us that they had moved here to open up this establishment together. My girlfriend and I were immediately enthralled by this charming, romantic story of this young wedded couple who moved here to start this new life together owning and operating this restaurant with their father and family. The cocktails and the beer were delicious, the bartender knew what she was doing. She went over to her husband and explained how we were from the same part of US as them, he actually came over from the kitchen, introduced himself to us and took the time to spend a few minutes with us, sharing stories back and forth together of Los Angeles and their new home, Mexico. The food came, short ribs and the house burger, garlicky parmesan fries and fried buffalo wing-style cauliflower. My goodness.. we had arrived. It was such a wonderful feeling to be thousands of miles from home, and still find a little piece of back home here in Valle. We were hooked. We ended up coming back to this restaurant a few more times during our week-long stay, every single time a wonderful experience. Excellent service, attentive waiters and hosts, stiff drinks, and the food.. oh the delicious food. Ginger beef, fried rice, american-style breakfast and breakfast sandwiches, delicious lattes and coffee, crispy chicken sandwiches and lamb vindaloo. We tried it all, we loved every last bite. There is something about this place, so warm and enchanting. There is magic here.We predict nothing but amazing things for the wonderful owners and this classy restaurant.Thank you for our experience Tellus Bistro.Trini & Mari
We stopped by for comida and shared a few entrees and appetizers. Everything was amazing! The menu has a lot of options, from burgers to fried rice...they're all worth trying. Great drinks too...I had a honey brown ale which is from a local brewery. The music and ambience was so good that we ended up enjoying more drinks and dessert on their patio.I will definitely be coming back next time I'm in Valle d Bravo!
Awesome industrial design themed casual restaurant, great service and atmosphere. They have a good sized menu ranging from burgers to steak to salads, I tried the Caesar Salad and it's THE BEST SALAD EVER. Their artisanal drinks are pretty bomb too.
Delicious reasonably priced food. Great artisan beers. Good winelist and cocktails. Tellus is open Wednesday to Saturday, with discounted menu on Wednesday and Thursday.
This is our first time visiting Valle de Bravo and as we drove into the valley at night, the first thing we saw were the lights shining at Tellus Bistro. We were immediately drawn to the industrial and modern LA vibe from the art work on the wall to the music. I loved every detail from the handmade ceramic planters to the up-cycled natural wood bar. The beautiful bartender was making fiery cocktails. The attentive servers were kind and always one step ahead but the best part was the menu. There was an obvious amount of passion behind every item. We ended up coming again the next morning because we had to try breakfast. We recommend: Buffalo Cauliflower & Tellus Burger and for breakfast we loved the French Toast & Breakfast Sandwich. We are positive you won't be disappointed ordering anything on the menu.
