Aware of the good name of the restaurant, we called in advance and booked a table. In fact, on our arrival, the place was full. We were accommodated near the entrance and made our orders. Being with two young kids, no wonder that two of the orders were hamburgers with chips. We're unlucky in the day we had lunch there. For reason(s) unknown to us, the kitchen went in tilt! After a very long wait, the chips arrived but no sign of anything else. Since we were near the entrance, and the exit, for that matter, we started seeing customers leaving in a furious, without eating, commenting on the long waiting. In spite of vacant tables, new customers were turned away, saying they couldn't serve them. After an eternity, our orders came. The kids were pleased with the hamburgers, though the chips were long gone!!! consumed during the long-lasting waiting. The grilled baccalà was good. generous portion, well presented, well done. However, the baccalà with pumpkin was disastrous. For some reason, the pumpkin was extremely acidic and not edible, passing that acidity to the baccalà. When signaled to the waiter, came back with the excuses from the kitchen saying that for some reason, it was dressed in too much vinegar, offering to replace the dish. Due to the enormous delay and the very extended time we were already there, we declined the offer. As said, probably we were unlucky with the chosen day as, I'm convinced, something out of the ordinary had happened in the kitchen. I think the restaurant deserves a second chance and, having the opportunity, would like to give it a second try. A word of commend to the waiter. All the way through the mayhem the waiter kept is cool and calm and was always kind and polite dealing with extremely unhappy and rightfully complaining customers. Bravo!!
Who knew there were so many ways to prepare cod? I never knew that this neutral white fish could be so packed with flavor. Everything we had was delicious and the service was excellent.
Quirky restaurant with fun vibe . House wine was not drinkable and in Italy this is saying something. Cod is featured in almost every dish .
Quest'osteria del professore è un'esperienza che consiglierei a tutti gli amanti del baccalà ma sinceramente anche a chi non lo apprezza. È stata una cena sublime, ogni piatto era un mix di sapori, studiato nei minimi dettagli e decisamente azzeccato. Abbiamo gustato degli antipasti che avremmo mangiato di nuovo subito dopo, ripetendo il giro, lo stesso vale per primi e secondi. Vorrei menzionare un piatto in particolare, quello che ho assaporato quasi da sola, il baccalà alla genovese, divino.
Una serata dedicata ad un evento speciale come un anniversario tra amici può essere ricordata presso la taverna del merluzzo gourmet e di qualità, sito in una posizione originale e assolutamente stimolante. Il personale è cordiale e cortese, pronto ad assisterti nella scelta. Il proprietario è amichevole e cortese, con particolare attenzione ai dettagli. Abbiamo assaggiato antipasti e merluzzo in diverse versioni, tra cui le polpette di merluzzo che si possono scegliere in versione piccante o dolce. Successivamente abbiamo ordinato due primi e due secondi. Naturalmente, entrando in un locale gourmet originale, ci si può aspettare di spendere di più per la qualità. Tuttavia, vale sicuramente la pena poiché si potrà gustare del buon vino e sapori originali! Buon appetito! Buona serata a tutti!
