The mushroom ravioli with truffle sauce stole the show, but the wild wild boar fesselnut was also excellent. They make all the pasta in the house. Insulting and a little loud, but you can't talk so badly. Especially on weekend booking. Definitely not a walkable place, but it is worth it.
Absolutely fantastic dinner. All parts of the meal had great taste and presentation. The buffalo mozzarella in the caprese was so delicious. For the main dishes we had a veal speciality and a pasta dish, and we loved both. As far as pasta white sauce is concerned, we had no so good sauce since the trip to Italy. The dessert was also tart and refreshing. You won't be disappointed when you feed here.
There's nothing more to ask for great food, great service, great location. The ambiance is fairly causal jeans and a flannel work while the food borders on fine dining. My wife and I shared two smaller antipastis and ordered our own pastas. A perfect amount after a long day of burning calories. The only bummer.... you have to call for reservations. Make sure to call well in advance. Things book quickly.
We thought they were too busy for a reservation, but went in anyway thinking a party of 2 could be able to eat in the bar. They had an open table on the terrace and it was perfect. The service was excellent and helped us to select exactly what we needed. The food was excellent and it was by far the best meal of our trip. Make yourself a favor and eat right there. Thank you.
I don't value restaurants much, but some are worth it. Shows the best authentic Italian in Vail. La Nonna is my place and I never had a bad meal here. I enjoy sitting at the bar and the energy around them are the bartenders great and know how to do what you want. Great staff that feels like family. The food is in portion size and taste on site. I usually get the Veal special, which in my picture, but also love the Pastas. The pig's stall is also excellent. I have taken many of my friends and family here and it is never disappointed, and when they come back to the city always the first place they want to go. Large wine list also and with solid by the glass options including Barolo. Can sometimes be hard to get a reservation, but they always seem to find a way... highly recommended.
