Pelayo's Mexican Food - Vacaville

Have been coming here for years, and food is always delicious. Service was great, food sizes were large, and tastes good as always. Only down side, the booths are somewhat of a tight fit for larger people, so if larger, request a table.

We ordered a large catering order from Pelayo's this past weekend and had a great experience. Food was great, transaction was made easy, food was ready on time and they helped me out to my car with the order. Highly recommend and will be using them for catering in the future.

I had the Chile Relleno and my wife had the Super Burrito with beef. It was ok. Not amazing or good but ok if you are hungry. The service was good. Seems like the food was made with cheap ingredients maybe even frozen. Anyway we won’t return. We will continue to try different Mexican fare until we find a good one! More to come!

First time here , and as soon as we walk in the Waitresses were arguing it was very awkward. The same guy came to our table and you could tell he was upset. He didn't seem to have patience with us. Me and my husband are vegetarians and was simply asking for some options. I felt like the guy was rude and me and my husband even talked about leaving. But we stayed to see how the food was gonna be. Sorry to say that was also a disappointment, I even came home and ended up throwing up I felt so sick. I will NEVER be going back to this place.

Went here on Mother's Day. It was busy. Service was decent for the crowd and the occasion. Atmosphere is good, the chips are good, salsa nothing special. I had the carne asada taco salad. I wanted chicken but inadvertently asked for carne so I'll own that mistake. This was easily the worst taco salad I have ever had. It was nothing but shredded head lettuce, some beans, the afore-mentioned carne asada (overly done), one small wedge of tomato, and a whole lot of sour cream, ranch dressing, and a miniscule amount of guacamole. I ate maybe half. Never again.
