The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The triple double burger was definitely worth the trip, and my wife loved the cavatappi inferno pasta. The loaded nachos were also amazing. Chef Richard Castle is very welcoming, and the restaurant is well-maintained. It has transformed significantly since my last visit. This trip was a delightful change, and I will definitely return more often. Great job!
The cafe itself was very clean, with super friendly staff and a talented chef. We are definitely planning to try more dishes from their excellent menu. As a bonus, there was also a Texas A&M connection!
However, the food fell short. The menu includes interesting historical tidbits about the airport, evoking a sense of nostalgia, but the dining options were quite limited. There weren’t many choices beyond burgers and sandwiches. For a café, I would have expected some soups, breakfast items, and coffee – although coffee was listed on the menu, our server informed us that the coffee machine had been broken for a long time. My partner ordered the Spitfire, a twist on a burger, while I opted for the Mile High Club, which was a turkey club sandwich. Unfortunately, the food could have been enjoyable, but it arrived at our table barely warm. We suspect the meals were prepared right away, but our order took about fifteen minutes to arrive, and both plates had cold sides. My toast was soggy, although the burger was hot. While the ingredients were of decent quality, the execution was lacking due to poor timing. It was affordable, but ultimately not satisfying. The restaurant should align the quality of the food with the high level of service and appealing atmosphere to ensure success. Despite my disappointment, I recognize that there is a scarcity of good diners and cafés serving standard American cuisine, so I may consider giving it another try in the future.
On a trip to garner state park and urgently needs a car charger. we found this caffe! which cool place to see airplanes, to learn a little ww2 aerial history, and eat something great. I recommend everyone who visits uvalde.
Came to eat, but got lucky and we were able to tour hanger next door. Now, Chicken Fried Steak with Jalapeño gravy, Bacon Cream Corn, Slaw, and Brewster Buffalo Sandwich were absolutely great! Great staff, too.
