The Village Tea Room - Uttlesford

The grilled halloumi, garlic mushrooms and fried egg on toast was delicious as my freshly made smoothie. the rest of my party also rejoiced about her omelette and jackenkartoffel. we found the prices appropriate for what we got and the choice was good. caters for vegans. will definitely be back next time in the opposite.

We visited this restaurant for the first time and were very impressed. The three of us had breakfast and although we had to wait a while for our food after ordering, it was worth the wait.

We decided to try the afternoon tea at this restaurant, despite the high price. The menu on the table gave us an idea of what to expect. When our tea arrived, it looked decent but nothing special. However, we were disappointed to find that one item - the savoury smoked salmon and cream cheese profiteroles - was missing. There was no explanation or offer of a replacement. When we asked about it, the staff simply said they had run out and offered a sandwich instead. We felt a replacement should have been offered without question, and a brief explanation would have been appreciated. There were also issues with getting additional teas and coffees, as we had to go to the counter to reorder instead of catching the waitress's eye. Overall, aside from the missing item, the experience was average. The high price of £48 for one tower of food (see photo) was not worth it, and we do not plan on returning for afternoon tea in the future.

What a lovely place to take my Dad for his 80th birthday. The staff could not have been friendlier and any more accommodating. My son was struggling with the new atmosphere and when I asked if we could switch table, this was done without any fuss or sense of it being a problem. All the staff were efficient, friendly and welcoming and I would thoroughly recommend this tea room.

We love going to this charming Tea Room. The staff is very friendly and the coffee and cake are both fantastic. You can enjoy a beautiful view of the village green, where cricket is played in the summer. The Village Tearooms also offers a variety of meals. I highly recommend stopping by on your way through Hatfield Heath.
