The Swan - Uttlesford

Stayed with friends on New Years Eve. The place was extremely busy but all our food was cooked to perfection. They even catered for 1 friend who requested something not on the menu. The staff especially Abbie couldn't be more attentive and friendly. Would definitely recommend.

Decided to have a journey out for a Saturday lunch having passed the pub on one of my motorcycle trips. Good simple welcoming local. It too much on the menu- usually a good sign of freshly cooked scoff. We had Ham Egg and Chips- a simple meal but you’d be surprised how many pubs can get it wrong....no complaints here- good ingredients, well cooked. Mrs Felltiger had the Special of Pork Belly with crackling, apple mash and veg. Mrs F is rather critical when it comes to food....this passed with again good ingredients and “perfectly cooked”. Very good value prices and a great pint of Hobgoblin. They even have a piano that you can play if you,re so inclined... We will return

Very good starter served quickly and piping hot. The main of locally produced sausages and mustard mash with onion gravy was delicious but for a 17 stone contractor a liitle on the small side lol.

Great food! We came as a family of four and were welcomed and settled at our table very quickly. The food didn't take very long to arrive either. I had a pan fried steak with sautéed mushrooms that were absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection highly recommended! My 14 year old said that the home made chips were probably the nicest chips she'd ever tasted (high praise from a teenager who is somewhat of a connoisseur of chips! . We aren't in the area very often but when we are we will definitely return to the Swan for a meal. Thank you for an excellent service in very pleasant surroundings.

This pub used to be fairly expensive, but when we went for lunch this week the Sunday menu was changed. As we have not visited this pub for some time, we were surprised by the change. All main courses were £9-50,and for Sunday lunch there was no beef. We ordered Lamb, and then were told that there was only one portion left. I had Pork belly.Food was o.k. For derert we ordered profiteroles. Again only one left.Had to choose alternative.NB we arrived early. No wine list.had to show me the bottles. Meal was reasonable and for the cost verry acceptable.
