Wijncafé Lefebvre - Utrecht

Great winebar with friendly and well mannered staff! When weather permits its great to sit outside and watch the locals on their bikes. My absolute favourite is LaVilette, the best Chardonnay i know. Every time whe in Utrecht I stop by to have a glass (or two, maybe three... . Eat what the locals eat and order the typical Dutch Croquettes, which they serve here in a mini version.

This wine bar has a cute setup. The menus are only in Dutch. They have a pretty good selection of local and imported wines. This spot is good for literal nibbles, as the portions are quite small IMHO. Just stuck to wine. Delicious. There was some questionable behavior by the waiter that I didn't approve of. Otherwise okay spot.

No need to be sceptical about the place just because of its fantastic location (this time around). They have a very wordly and decent wine list and fingerfood menu that will blow you away. Although not cheap (what would you expect), the wines are broad and well selected. I had the house Gruner Veltliner (fantastic) and Viognier (okayish) while there together with some oisters, and nuts. They also serve a very decent beer menu for the people who are not into wines. The only disadvantage is that the place is very crowded. We weren't able to get a table or seats while there around 23:00. But then again, what would you expect with this location.
