Outdoor seating, live music- the experience was great!
We had wonderful food here for lunch. With an awesome waitress. I can not remember her name, which makes me mad bc she deserves the attention. She was so nice and new what she was doing. The nice man that I believe owns the place was like super cool and friendly and personable. Just a great experience! And with about the food.... it was fantastic! I had a ribeye steak salad. It 's was so good! Like soooooo good. The steak was perfect. My fiance had the ribeye steak sandwhich, and he said it was the best he 's had in a very, very long time. We also had the fried mushrooms, and can I just say chef 's kiss homemade fried mushroom. Ummmm, yes, please! Go there it 's worth it!
Great pub/restaurant for grabbing a cool one and a bite to eat. I love this small town of Utica, Illinois. Canal Port is our go to for great service and food which has always been great. This place is good for families or the passersby. Starved Rock is nearby as we enjoy the hiking trails first and look forward to stopping in Canal Port for refreshments to complete our visit to Utica. Parking: Free Street park or parking lot around the block Kid-friendliness: Kid menu Wheelchair accessibility: Wheel chair assemble.
Located in the Mill Street Patio area of North Utica,Canal Port is housed in an old school pub with original tin ceilings and a wood crafted bar. Serving lunch and dinner in a relaxed atmosphere. We stopped in for a late lunch midweek and it was not crowded at all. They offer indoor and outdoor seating. We sat inside and enjoyed the relaxed feel. They offer a nice selection of craft beers along with sandwiches, salads and homemade soups. For dinner they serve steaks, seafood and pork chops. Expect to wait for your food to be served as everything is made to order. I had Monterrey Chicken sandwich which I ordered fried topped with bacon, Monterrey Jack cheese and Parmesan ranch dressing. You can also get the chicken grilled. Comes with fries, slaw or bar chips. The sandwich was a good portion and reasonably priced. My wife had the burger on a gluten free bun which they only charged her 1.00 extra for. We were both satisfied with our selections and would definitely suggest going here for lunch instead of eating within Starved Rock State Park.
