We stepped in a little after 11:30 P.M. We were greeted by a friendly, young lady who explained there might be a bit of a wait as she was the only server. She asked if that was OK. We agreed that it was fine with both of us. She sat us and left our menus. It wasn’t long and she was back for our drink orders. We were ready to order so she took that as well, but I had questions about muffins. She said she was new, but would find out. She shared the information with us that she learned, and we ordered. We thought she came quickly with our waters, but she apologized for the delay. It seemed like we received our orders swiftly. My husband said his food was luke warm. My gravy was cold, the hashbrowns were just shy of being burnt, the chicken strips were hot, but definitely cooked too long, and the biscuits were quickly moved to the side of the plate. They were so dry; I struggled cutting a bite. I am positive if we would have said something, it would have been taken care of. However, neither of us wanted to wait longer for food after smelling several tables around us. We were hungry and ate it. Our waitress, the same young gal that sat us, came to check on us. We asked for a box for my husband’s half an omelette. She brought it and wanted to know if wanted any dessert or baked items to take home. I ordered another muffin to take home for my mom. (The strawberry muffin was new for me; it was delicious! When we paid, I thought I was paying too much for the first muffin. I quickly learned that I misread the menu. Ivy, our waitress, mentioned to the manager that she thought they were having a special where if you buy three muffins you get three free. The manager confirmed. I decided to do that. The manager listed the flavors. I chose one for my dad and brought three more home for us. It was so wonderful these two ladies informed and help us make a more economical decision! I also want to add there was another employee, lady, that was cleaning up who checked on us too. There were two other parties seated after us. The employees explained that none of us would be hurried and not to worry that they closed at midnight. One actually said if someone walks in at 11:59, we will serve them their food and not rush them out either. I loved this and will go back for these reasons! I haven’t been to Perkins in over a decade, but will make sure I go more often if I can receive that type of hospitality and honesty! Those three ladies were top notch! I wish I knew the other two’s names so they could receive credit. Keep up the good work, Ivy! For late at night, being new, and about closing time, you were an 12/10!
Tim the manager at the Perkins on McKinley is awesome …. We order from them every Saturday morning and he knows they boys order !! Thank you for the awesome service
Had to get up and leave. Our waitress on three occasions was heard cussing and yelling about how she is sick of being the only person and she better not get slammed and that the company doesn’t care. People behind us had little kids. I was not going to stay and tip her for a meal. Very bad vibe 05/26/24 service date 10pm. Offered to pay for the soda she brought us and was told not to worry about it. She was just glad we were leaving
Friendly staff. Our waitress Amber is awesome!! She is so helpful, friendly, and sweet to us!! We love coming each week to see her.
