During our visit to Adwell House, we found ourselves near Sydenham and chose to have lunch at The Crown Inn. Both dishes were beautifully presented, generously portioned, and matched their descriptions perfectly. We enjoyed the Hanging Chicken Halloumi Kebab accompanied by a Greek salad, as well as the Smoked Haddock Fishcakes, both served with fries. There was a nice selection of real ales and refreshing lagers on tap, ideal for a summer day! The staff were friendly and attentive, striking just the right balance in their presence. We look forward to returning the next time we are in the area!

Charming pub with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The food was exceptional, so I give it a 5 out of 5. The service was also top-notch, earning another 5, and the overall ambiance deserves a perfect score of 5 as well. Highly recommend!

I dropped in last minute on a Friday and was pleasantly accommodated. The food and service were both exceptional. After a tough week, this was exactly what we needed. There was no hassle; everything was helpful and friendly. Even the little details were perfect, like the background music being just the right volume. We also found RESERVED Scrabble tiles on our table, ready for us to enjoy. We weren't rushed to finish our meal, which was wonderful. Overall, a fantastic experience. Price per person: £20–30.

Really great place for a snack, big meal or/and a drink! The staff was very friendly and attentive. All food that I've tried was delicious and the portions were generous. Good menu choices if not slightly pricey but very welcoming and friendly staff. Lovely cosy atmosphere inside. No car park but road in village is OK.
