The Black Labrador - Underbarrow

When visiting the Lake District, this pub is an absolute must-visit. We cannot recommend it highly enough for excellent dining. We enjoyed the lobster and crab ravioli and the steak and ale pie, followed by vanilla panna cotta. Everything was absolutely delicious; the kitchen truly knows what they're doing! In addition to the fantastic food, the atmosphere is beautiful, and the staff is incredibly friendly, professional, and attentive, even though they were very busy with a full house for dinner. A big thumbs up for 'The Bothy'! We will definitely return to this gem of a pub on our next trip. Many thanks for a perfect final dinner during our stay!

I absolutely love this place! We've visited several times, and it has always been fantastic. We chose to dine here the night before our busy season, and even with a party of 25, the service and food were incredible. Thank you for an unforgettable evening; you truly are amazing!

I recently decided to stop drinking, and I'm really glad I made that choice. This charming, rustic pub offers excellent table service and has a cozy lounge area with a fire and comfortable couches. I also appreciate their dog-friendly policy; it was just what we needed after a chilly, rainy hike!

My wife and I had the pleasure of visiting this place for dinner. we had a great time and enjoyed eating immensely. the most unforgettable part of the evening must be the personal, but they were all so friendly and jolly. the atmosphere was also warm and unpretentious in a well thought-out and spacious ambiente. we look forward to a soon return.

The Black Labrador is one of the most comforting and homely pub and restaurant Iv been too. Food is incredible, staff are always so polite, smiley and extremely helpful. My and my now husband had our wedding reception at The Black Labrador and it was an absolutely stunning. All staff and owner went above and beyond to make sure you were at ease and comfortable and had everything you needed. Every time I drive by I always get butterflies as it was perfect in every way and the best day of my life. Thank you so much for being so amazing
