Larstigalm - Umhausen

We went where we lived in a hot day. It is located in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by alpine meadows. A pretty old traditional wooden house. We sat on the veranda and I had a big glass of apple juice and mineral water. Service well. Goats that shoot children. Chickens. Peace

Delightful simple wood tavern/Gasthaus can only be reached on foot about an hour's beautiful walk along the rushing Horlachbach of Niederthai. As you expect, completely calm, next to the occasional sound of the goats. Built in 1899, Lartighof retains its antique character with cute (if somewhat low-covering)...dining rooms inside with many old photographs. There is an attractive outdoor terrace overlooking the mountains. It offers Austrian foundations that I was tried by the Frankfurters, but for and enjoyed their Goulash soup with land bread and a bottle of zip. Pretzels on the tables. Nice service and there is also a 'Streichlzoo' where children can stroke the goats. Bill was significantly less than €10.

Authentic Farm with cozy Jausenstation, where you can have a drink. Very nice walk in Niederthai through the Hoarlach Valley.

As you'd expect, completely quiet, aside from the occasional sound of goats. Built in 1899, the Lartighof retains its antique character with cute (if somewhat low-ceilinged) dining rooms inside with lots of old photographs. There's an attractive outdoor terrace with views of the mountains. It offers Austrian basics - I was tempted by the Frankfurters but opted for and enjoyed their Goulash soup with Landbrot and a bottle of Zipfer. Pretzels on offer on tables. Nice service and there's also a Streichelzoo where children can stroke the goats. Bill was well less than €10.
