Garnes Thai Mat - Ulsteinvik

Being a Thai person craving authentic Thai food, I decided to give this restaurant a try based on their positive reviews. I ordered the drunken noodles for the first time and was disappointed that they didn't taste like the traditional dish I am used to. It seems like they may not have had the correct ingredients to make it authentic, and the texture was off as well. While this may be a version tailored for a Norwegian palate, I only gave it 2 stars because the taste of the noodles was overly sweet and soggy. The service was also lacking, as it did not leave a lasting impression on me.

I first tried garnes thai in 2017 and it quickly became my favorite restaurant. I absolutely love it and there is no better way to describe it! Even if I am 1000km away, I always come back to enjoy some of their delicious food. My favorite dishes are the grilled and fried shrimp, and the spring rolls are also amazing. The prices are very reasonable and they offer delivery, which is perfect. Thank you for always providing such great food!

Reasonably priced and very good take away. Fresh flavors, high quality ingredients, varied and exciting dishes. Most of the dishes we tried (7 in total) had significant sweetness. Requires a Riesling with a bit of sweetness and good fruitiness.

We ordered a variety of dishes and most of them tasted very good. The only thing we were not satisfied with was the fish balls. They were tough.
