I really like the kiosk ordering method. Poke was delicious!
While the poke was super tasty, it was very expensive for the amount of actual fish I received. There were big chunks of onion in there to make it appear more voluminous, and the seaweed salad and pickled veg that it was supposed to come with was served on top of a bunch of lettuce so it LOOKED like way more was in there. Classic trick. I also got the fried chicken musubi, and while it was delicious, I ended up just eating the filling because the way it was wrapped (meat sandwiched between rice and then wrapped in nori rather than meat on top made it so there was nothing solid to back the nori and make it easy to bite through. It was a big mess. I do like the option to buy alcoholic seltzer, though (very refreshing! . Overall, I'd rather go to another place where I can get more bang for my buck.
I hate to write bad reviews, Let first start by saying I've eaten at this restaurant many times over the past 6 years but today's visit brought disappointment and disgust. After ordering and waiting for my food I witnessed one of the employees drop the tongs used to get food out of the fryer on the dirty ground, instead of immediately taking them back to the sink she placed them back on the line. Moments later I witnessed another employee use those same tongs to prepare food for another customer. Secondly I ordered a soft drink mind you the time was 1230 and they had been open for over an hour. The soda machine was not operational and when I asked for assistance it took a long time for the 2 associates working to figure out how to make it work (poor training). They only had a couple of customers in the restaurant at the time. Once I received my order, I found the rice to be so dry that it was impossible to eat, and then the lumpia recipe had changed or the food was bad, so those were not edible either. Overall, very sad by the decline of this brand as it has been one of my favorite places for years. I will no longer be bringing my family and friends to this establishment because I'm concerned about the cleanliness of the restaurant, and with them, using utensils that have been on the floor disgusts me.
Ono food that brings back memories from living in Hawaii!
