Cafe Clarence - ULMARRA

A surprisingly good 'hidden gem' in a beautiful setting, no matter what the season. (Indoor and outdoor dining). Well worth the diversion off the highway. Loved the salt and pepper squid and prawns with salad. Watch the boats go by on the mighty Clarence river. Great place to stretch your legs after a long drive and reboot. The historic village of Ulmarra has a smattering of quaint small businesses like an op shop, craft shop, art galleries, bookshop and giftware. There are several businesses selling antiques and old wares on the highway, not far from the cafe.

Stopped here for lunch while travelling. Lovely spot near the river with outdoor seating. Food was 1st class! I had the seeded crusted trout and my husband had the pork belly. Both were yum! Menu was modern and a good variety and not everything came with chips, like so many other places. Looking forward to returning and trying the rest of the menu.

Delightful spot on the river. Stopped by for a cappuccino in the middle of a long drive. Enjoyed the chance to appreciate the beauty and serenity of the river from their large outdoor area.

Stopped here yet again for lunch. This time we took the plunge and tried one of the great selection of delicious looking cakes before we ordered the grilled chicken salad. Five stars for both and such a lovely spot on the river. What more is there to say? You must stop and eat here.

Great location looking over the Clarence river. Soak up the sun and enjoy a proper break from the highway. Big meals, but maybe a little pricey.
