Fd's Grillhouse - Tyler

I feel they changed the chef. I have been there all the time. Two weeks ago, everything tastes different in a bad way.

I’ll start by saying that my family has been coming to FD’s for at least the last 6 years. For the most part, most of their food is always on point. My personal favorite is the spinach dip pasta and the chicken and walnut salad truly to die for. We have, however, noticed a common trend with their tortilla chips. We often order the Triple dip appetizer (which the actual dips are also super delicious). The dips are served with tortilla chips which oftentimes are stale. It has happened numerous times throughout our visits in the last few years. The chips are truly our only complaint from this spot but it feels like a common theme at this point. In the past we would request the chip basket be switched out but they were typically replaced with a new basket that tasted similar. We had taken a break from ordering this appetizer (for the same reason) but visited today and decided to give it a shot, only to have the same fate we’ve had in the past. Other than that, this place has other delicious dishes and great service.

Haven’t been here in like 4 years, but the food quality and prices haven’t changed much. Great place for a relatively cheap meal that feels somewhat fancy. ?

The butterfly shrimp were excellent, and they were very generous on how many there were. The baked potato was excellent as well!! I didn't have room for the coleslaw. My husband batted cleanup. I didn't get our waitress' name, but she was excellent as well. She recommended the salmon for another time and the firecracker shrimp appetizer, which I had the last time I was there, and enjoyed it very much!
