El Mejicano - Tyler

Went for lunch today Will cost about $8.50 including tax with no drink.

I love El Mejicano, but every time I go my stomach hurts.

Great mexican food buffet in Tyler, Texas Most of the food on the buffet is *not* Tex-Mex but closer to traditional northern mexican (Norteno) food.

Can't complain too much. The food wasn't bad for being a buffet style restaurant and the restaurant was nice and clean. I liked the variety of enchiladas they had but they could be better. After a few of those enchiladas I was very satisfied and full. The hot sauce can be spicy for some so make sure you try a little before you pour it on everything. The service was overall good. If I want to get really full and hate my life later, this is the place to go.

It was really casual. I was given my containers for the buffet, pointed to the written rules of the buffet, then the rest was up to me. Everything looked SO GOOD!! I tried to get a little bit of everything. The rice and beans are phenomenal. The sour cream enchiladas are my favorite! Actually, I didn 't come across anything that I didn 't like lol. And I told my husband that I 'm bringing him in for the tamale plate when he 's in town. Thank goodness my lid closed on my container!! PHEW!! Check it out, but don 't go if you 're 'uppity ' or not hungry- it might not be the place for you.
