John's Place - Twentynine Palms

Delicious diner food, the takeout window actually works! We ordered ahead and pulled up, gave them our card, and then we got our reception and food! Food was simple, but delicious, we ordered the granny apple salad that came with granny apples, walnuts, raisins and honey mustard. The French dip was normal, but very cheap!

Warm staff. Good breakfast. Nice feeling. Our favorite place for breakfast in 29 palm trees when we visited Joshua Baum National Park.

We really enjoyed the chicken roasted steak and eggs. The eggs were perfectly cooked, the engraving is good the restaurant is very clean.

This place could be our regular visit when we visit Joshua Tree. My friends and I visited the day and just stopped here to eat something and we loved it. Everything tasted fresh with generous portions to get most bang for your Buck. Very dipping Burger Square, but sometimes what you want on a road trip right? Right. We really like the zucchiniries. Other places where we tried were not good, usually very thick. But John's Zucchini Pommes were crisp and fresh and tasty. Next time we drive the city, it's definitely over again.

The staff was friendly the food is what you want from a diner-hearty and good. Only reason it didn't get 5 stars is because a salad was served on a screaming hot plate. They happily exchanged it, so no big deal (and it was a good salad). It is worth going there. You get what you pay for in a good way. Just ask for a room temperature plate if you order a salad .
