This stop was a break in a day long business meeting, so we dashed out for some dinner. The food is always good at Kelly's, and its a nice cosy restaurant in a lovely setting on Hwy 37. I selected a pan fried filet of sole, and my companions opted for Kelly's Burger and the two piece fish and chips respectively. The french fries, without question, were delish. My companion's two piece haddock was generous and he dug into it with gusto, enjoying the nice crunch of the side coleslaw. My other companion's burger was short of being massive. I wasn't sure she could finish it but, she did and enjoyed the experience. My filet of sole was properly cooked, and a nice side of mixed veg with a touch of yellow curry seasoning rounded out my meal. The food was good, the service pleasant as always, and we lingered over our coffee, unfortunately without room for one of their wonderful desserts. Both of my companions agreed it was the perfect alternative to subs or pizza, and a great setting for a decent meal.
If you're in Tweed or just driving by on highway 7 it's a short drive to Kelly's and well worth it. Had a burger plate with an ice cold brew on the patio! Excellent food.
I highly recommend the fish and chips or the chicken fajita wrap! You also can't go wrong with a side salad. Delicious food, worth the drive from Ottawa.
This place definitely has some character. When you walk in there are all sorts of interesting memorabilia on the walls. It isn't a very big place so I would advise at going just before the dinner rush to ensure that you get table. The food was good as most people have stated. It's your typical American menu and a few pasta dishes.
First time stopping there. Took my husband out for his birthday he wanted to try Kelly's .Phoned at last min for reservation and got it. When we got there the staff was very pleasant.my husband had their special which was classic onion soup and breaded veal cutlet and I had a Caesar salad with a homemade oil dressing which was very very good.and 1/2 rib dinner .The ribs were very good and the bbq sauce on them was excellent. We then had home made coconut cream pie never tasted a pie so good.they were always coming over to make sure everything was ok and wanting to fill our coffee .Price wise wasn.t bad for what u get served. Would not hesitate to go back. Overall service was a 10
