Restaurant at Tustin Ranch Golf Club

The main dining room was not available because of a special party. We were seated in a smaller dining room with no other patrons. Perfect for our small gathering of old friends who had been out of touch too long. It was quiet and we had the server to ourselves. She was friendly, efficient, and attentive. Excellent! My three friends were happy with their meal of eggs, yummy potatoes, with a choice of ham or bacon, and toast. My food, however, was barely room temperature. I had pancakes (which had a lovely texture), eggs over medium (perfectly cooked), and bacon (could have been a little crispier but near perfect). The coffee, though served from a fresh pot, was so strong that it tasted old; I had to dilute it with cream and sugar to make it palatable. All in all, I would go back here because it was perfect for our gathering, but I would hope that the food would arrive hot. Would have given three stars, but since my friends were happy with their food, I gave it four.

We have been going to Tustin Ranch for many years but feel that the selection of items available for brunch have been reduced. We are certain it is probably due to the low number of guests that are present that it is not financially feasible to have the spread that they offered in the past. None of the dishes were outstanding although we are pleased that they have continued the oysters, crab legs and shrimp. Desserts have never been the same since Jeff left many moons ago. The brunches, lunches and dinner have also slipped since Burt moved to another facility. I think that unfortunately, the big corporations don't look at the big picture (make meals appealing and people will be more willing to frequent the club) even if they pay a little more. Now it is only a place with good ambiance but only a so so menu.

The brunch was served in a plain back room with no atmosphere. It lacked warmth and character, and the food was mediocre.

My experience with this reservation was a disaster! We received the confirmation email, but when we arrived at the restaurant, it was closed. This completely ruined our family holiday dinner plans. I would like someone to contact me to discuss this issue.

Extensive buffet plus live music from a great jazz duet. Beautiful views of the golf course and fountains. Wonderful for special occassions.
