Chimi's Mexican - Tulsa

Low key place, always relaxed. We like it because it's close enough to walk to, which is great before and after dinner. Prices are decent for the food, and the service is usually great, not hovering too much but still attentive. The place could be cleaner, we sometimes have to brush chips/crumbs off the booth seats or table and the window sills always need a vacuum. Food is just personal preference, and sometimes my quesadilla comes out too crispy and burritos come out too soggy, but it's still good enough to keep coming back, not a big deal.

Over $10 for a order of chips salsa to go. Nope not today.!

Heads up to out of town folks who may not know the place queso and sopapillas cost extra. We are used to going to Mexican restaurants where the queso and salsa are a part of your meal at no additional charge as well as sopapillas. Salsa also taste like Pace not typically in house salsa that you expect to find. The waitress asked us if we wanted queso as soon as we sat down before we even had a chance to look at the menus and we said yes. We picked up our menus and realized it was going to be additional which wasn’t a huge deal but I feel like either she should have let us know or let us get a chance to look at the menu first. Same kind of happened with sopapillas. She asked if we wanted some after the meal of course our menus were long gone by then and again no mention of additional charge so the check was a little surprising once we got it. I had the enchiladas with shredded beef and they were really good. My husband had the flautas and he said they were also fairly good. Our service was so/so the restaurant wasn’t even busy and it was after lunch rush. Our waitress only came by to take our order and once to check if we wanted sopapillas at the end of our meal.So I guess buyer beware don’t ask for anything until you’ve gone over the menu entirely.Restaurant was relatively clean bathrooms are tiny and barely had soap and paper towels weren’t in the dispenser. If you are tall good luck using the women’s restroom as I am short and my knees were touching the door. Also good luck if you need to help a small child go to the restroom.

Not a fan, the food and the staff are, OK, the margaritas, OK, that's about it in my opinion.
