I used to like this restaurant, but I am no longer a fan. Today, I went in for a quick visit and needed to use the restroom. However, the signs in the restroom stated that it was not public. I asked a staff member for the code to use the restroom, but they informed me that it was only for employees. When I asked where I could find another restroom, they had no answer. I ended up going to Illegal Pete's to use their restroom and returned to the restaurant. Shortly after, the same worker opened the restroom for three other customers without any issue. This experience was incredibly frustrating and ridiculous. I will be avoiding this place in the future.
This is my favorite starbucks in the city and I run a few times in the week to this, even if it is a bit further from my office than the other campus sites. I also sat outside and doing here at weeks and love the vibe. as busy as getting them with so many students, the wait goes pretty fast and especially the staff is always friendly. some of them even remember my order and my name, which is a more positive way to start my day before the sarg! dom is particularly brilliant.
There is a coworker who works here with the name fair. he was exceptionally friendly and helpful. it is rare for customer service that this is remarkably good in a coffee shop.
I visited the restaurant to congratulate the staff on their unionization and ordered a coffee to show my support. I had been a loyal customer of a competing restaurant for a while, but decided to come back to my favorite Starbucks. However, my experience was marred by an encounter with James, whose shocking personality seemed out of place in such a prominent location. His demeanor was unfriendly and intimidating, leaving me feeling uncomfortable in front of my clients. I initially thought he was joking, but his large, creepy eyes made me realize he was serious. This was not the celebratory atmosphere I had expected at the first unionized Starbucks in our region. His attitude may negatively impact the location as a whole, and I suggest removing him before other staff members adopt his behavior. Until then, I will be returning to The Scented Leaf, where my clients and I are always treated with respect and hospitality. James should not be interacting with customers in this manner.
