Ra Sushi Bar Restaurant - Tucson

I really enjoy their happy hour menu. The food has consistently been excellent, and the staff is quite friendly. The atmosphere is lovely, the restaurant is well-kept, and the sushi is fantastic!

We were seated promptly for a Friday night visit. The sushi was good, but not as great as it used to be, especially considering the high prices. Our bill for five rolls and one soda, plus tip, came close to $100. We only ordered specialty rolls; some were decent, while others were quite good. If you're hungry, be prepared to spend a bit more. The atmosphere was similar to other locations I've visited. However, I did notice that the industrial carpet flooring was quite dirty. The prices for standard sushi rolls weren't significantly lower than those for the specialty rolls.

Shortly after I placed my order, Ana was informed by another hostess that one of the rolls I ordered was missing some ingredients. She promptly brought it to my attention and offered to swap it for another roll of equal value, which I appreciated. My wait time was about 20 minutes, but it was well worth it. I ordered the Lobster Filet Mignon Roll, the "Ra"wesome Roll, and the Crazy Monkey Roll. I've been to many fine dining sushi restaurants that simply put my to-go order in a flimsy plastic bag, so I truly appreciated the thoughtful presentation here, even in a small detail like that. I will definitely return and dine in next time. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience! Very sad experience tonight. I got to see this place in its hay day when a group of young guys with a vision and passion started the business. It was incredible and the food was great. I have seen it go downhill ever since they sold to a large company, but today was rock bottom. The plates were filthy , the floor was filthy , the tables are bartered and worn. No drinks for 8 minutes so we asked for the manager. Manager never came out so we stood up and went to front desk. We asked for the manager again and were told that she was on the phone!! Must have been really important at 8:50pm. A lot of suppliers work late night I guess! Very disappointing experience.

Good luck getting service. Tried this place last week, it was okay, so we decided to try it on a Thursday at 4:00. Inside was empty, no hostess for quite a bit, she finally came out of the back of the restaurant and said we could sit outside or at a high top, the entire inside of normal tables were empty, but there was no server yet even though there were visible servers with their oh-so-clever t-shirts outside. Yeah, sit next to the road or on a bar stool, great service, wonderful atmosphere. Won 't be returning to this hip , but amateur restaurant.
