Housekeeping needs improvement. Dirty in room coffee maker. Toilet paper and holder area not cleaned or changed from prior guest. Shower head not clean. Water pressure was pitiful. It used to feel intimate, personal, private. Now they are catering to multiple large tour buses, groups, local group events. Courtyard area closed every night for private functions.
Decent place to relax with great friendly staff who were customer service orientated and this place was pet friendly. (Not the resort's fault but a dumba in an orange colored 3-wheeled vehicle was reviving the motor extremely loud in the resort parking lot and drove past me at a high rate of speed down E. Vía Alcalde while walking my dog last night
We just returned from our second visit to Hacienda del Sol, and although the first stay was perfect, this time was EVEN better. There are not enough superlatives to describe every single aspect of the resort! The grounds are absolutely magnificent, with gorgeous Sonoran desert landscaping and beautiful sculptures and pottery everywhere. There are various sitting areas around the property that seem to be shouting“grab a margarita and enjoy the view”. The surrounding mountains literally glow at sunrise and sunset. A really delightful perk for me as an early riser was going to the main lodge each morning and sitting by the roaring fire while sipping the delicious complimentary coffee and reading the paper. The entire staff is engaging and efficient, and Summer in the guest relations office is a gem. She listened to the type of room we were looking for and matched us to perfection! Our beautiful room was spacious and tastefully decorated, and beyond comfortable. The three heated pools and jacuzzis are pristine, and we chose them by which gorgeous view we were in the mood for that day.The food was absolutely fantastic (TOO fantastic) and my husband said that the“Spicy Margaritas” were the best he had ever tasted. The indoor restaurant is magnificent, and the outdoor dining area has space heaters and unbelievable views of the mountains. The Happy Hour from 3:00 to 6:00 is a definite “No Miss” with $6.00 drinks and the most delicious nachos, calamari, guacamole, etc., ever!I really cannot say enough about the magic of Hacienda del Sol. It was off the charts wonderful, and we are already planning our next visit.
The view from the back room is spectacular. Ask to be seated there and gaze upon the clouds and mountains.
The restaurant is set in a stunning landscape of desert and distant mountains. The spacious rooms all offer breathtaking views, and there are multiple pools on the property. The restaurant serves delicious food.
