I had just come up from their pool so I was not in the finest clothes but as a WSETgraduate and culinary school graduate you never know who you have at your table. I have never given a negative review beforechoosing to abstain knowing how difficult the restaurant life is and even now I feel bad posting this. On the hand, for arestaurant that considers itself fine dining this is simply unacceptable. I told two couples about my experience on my wayout. To be fair the plate presentation did look nice and everything smelled delicious.
Came for dinner while visiting from out of town. No problem with reservation or seating. My wife ordered a margarita-I must say it was the worst we had ever tasted-way too much lime. They brought another and it was done right. Onion soup was excellent. Mywife?s fish was rubbery and overdone. I ordered a filet cooked medium?it was just passed medium well and dry. I ordered anAperol Spritz-some weird pink thing came out?a huge insult to Italians-it was horrible?wrong glass, wrong wine, no orange, noice no Aperol. Ordered a Crème Brûlée with strawberry-that?s how it came out and was titled, but the menu description saidblueberry! I am not one to complain?this would have been a one star had it not been for the waitress trying so hard.
I?m thinking they call this restaurant gold because you must have been from the golden age to be a patron there. The only reason it doesn?t get a one star is because the staff really tried to mask the disappointments gold offered. From the start therestaurant was nearly empty. 7 tables. We sat for 20 minutes before receiving our first drink. We read the dress code wasbusiness casual (Christmas Eve dinner) and the entire wait staff wore jeans. ???? the wines were chilled as though they came outof the refrigerator. The food was subpar at best. Everything looked as pre-made as possible. The shrimp was over cooked, theswordfish was dry and how do you serve a filet that is medium well but ordered as medium rare. The decor is cheap an dated andthe smells omitting from the dank and stark room are reminiscent of a roadside truck stop diner. I won?t be giving this place asecond chance. Not worth throwing away $266 for a two person meal
Normally love breakfast here. We were staying at the hotel so was convenient. We've had dinner there in the past and was good. This time disappointed with the selection and price. Service was slow even though there were very few patrons. Breakfast is fineand the view is pretty. But i would not go back for dinner.
