West Wing - Tuam

We dined here on 2 May 2022 and the place was quiet in the evening when we arrived I hadnt been here in along time and the place was well decorated and inviting inside.. The sole waitress came and took us to a table and came to take our order. when she saw we werent quite ready she allowed us plenty of time to makee our minds up ... We had the Garlic mushrooms to start and the only fault I would have with these was that there were only 5 mushroms on the plate.. I know its a starter but at 6.95 I think maybe another 2 would be the right amount. Otherwise very tasty and well presented I had a chicken stir fry with peanut sauce (A Satay really) with half and half and it was very tasty. My wife had a chicken and bacon caesar salad with chips as a main and it was tasty and nicely presented. The waitress was friendly .. Again one thing I dont see done in most places and I think should be improved on is that the waiters and waitresses who servee a table should return after serving the main course just to check if everything is ok Used to be done in all good restaurants in past times. Not a fault with the waitress here but more in her training and while she was away I did note that she was doing other chores Overall I would give it 4 and a half stars but this isnt possible and 4 would be deducting too much. A little tweak or two and this place is perfect. Well done

Megan was the best! Absolutely gracious hospitality and kindness. We had the baked bacon dinner and seafood chowder and crumble. Everything was spot on with flavour and portion. If we weren’t just passing through we would come here often. It was my mum’s birthday and it was so kind to have the staff sing her happy birthday and have candles for her dessert. Ut was a lovely memorable experience. Only complain would be the radio playing was obnoxious, people talking on it and then techno music. I would have much preferred listening to a Spotify playlists with some nice easy listening jazz to enjoy while we ate.

We were travelling from Cork to Clonbur when we came across the West Wing it looked very impressive so we decided to have lunch there. On entering the place where food was served we found it cosy and inviting. We were told take a seat and someone will be around to take our order. We ordered turkey/ham and salmon which were beautifully served and were delicious. The desserts were to die for profiteroles divine. Staff were efficient and friendly and couldn't do enough for us. We will definitely recommend it to any of our friends going up that side of country.

The west wing deserves 5 stars. our special family event, which was booked for weeks, was saved from the west wing after an abrupt cancellation at another place. the west wing took our large group after 8 o'clock, without announcing. the service was excellent. the food was excellent. we were pleasantly surprised with the selection at this time of the day. none of us had a complaint or fault. a deserved 5 stars!

The staff was nice and the food was delicious. Unfortunately, the restaurant is quite dirty. they have not even cleaned under our table or our chair before we sat and it was covered with crumbs and mash. the bathroom was dirty.
