Smitty's Licensed Family - Truro

I recently had brunch at this restaurant and was impressed by the server's knowledge of safe options for those with dietary restrictions. He informed me that they have a separate toaster for gluten free bread and assured me that the shredded hash browns were also safe to eat. I ordered a plate with eggs, bacon, shredded hash browns, and gluten free toast. Unfortunately, I did not have the opportunity to try the gluten free pancakes, but overall I was satisfied with my meal.

On Fridays, the special at this restaurant is chowder, which is delicious. Take advantage of the seniors menu and consider purchasing a senior club card for discounts.

Le serveur était sympathique. Seul point positif.Nourriture au mieux banale. Les pancakes étaient plein de fausse vanille et le sirop goûtait l'érable chimique. Impardonnable au Canada avec toutes ces érablières. Oeufs trop cuits, le jaune était solide. Patates achetées congelées.Rien n'était bon. Ne valait vraiment pas les 10$ minimum pour chacun de nos 3 déjeuners.

The wait staff was very friendly and smiley however, they only offered the men refills us females had to shout to get anything to drink and my pancakes were extremely running and not at all edible. I feel as though I would choose this as a last resort and eat breakfast anywhere else before returning to this location.

We stopped off on our way from Halifax airport to Shediac. Easy to get to but on a Sunday morning at 11:00 it is anything but fast! When the food finally arrived, it was tasty and filling (I had the cinnamon swirl pancakes). I also thought that $12 for 3 pancakes and $2.30 for coffee was a high.
