I ordered a pad thai at this restaurant and informed them that I have celiac disease. Despite this, they still served it to me with wheat chips on top. After sending it back, they simply picked off the chips and brought the same dish back to me. When I expressed my reasons for leaving, they offered to make a new dish but I declined. I am very disappointed and thankful that I did not eat it, as it could have made me very ill.
I decided to visit this restaurant based on positive reviews on TripAdvisor, but it turned out to be the first time that I disagreed with the reviews. Those who raved about this place must not have discerning taste buds. They should try better Asian cuisine outside of Truro. I have been to numerous Asian restaurants in Canada and abroad, including in Asia, and although I understand that Truro's Chinese cuisine may not compare to mainland China or even Spadina, it should at least be decent. The fried rice we were served was subpar, and my daughter even vomited her food within the first 15 minutes. The rest of us struggled to finish our meals and eventually gave up. The restaurant's location in a poorly lit basement in Truro should have been a red flag. Overall, I do not recommend this restaurant; there are much better dining options in Truro. I was disappointed given the high praise it received on TripAdvisor.
I ordered pad thai at this restaurant and they topped it with wheat chips, despite my celiac disease. After returning the dish, they removed the wheat chips but gave me the same dish again. Although they offered to make a new one, I declined. I am disappointed and upset by this experience, and worried about getting sick.
The restaurant has amazing food and top-notch service. The owner, who is a nurse, is very well-informed about food sensitivities.
