This is a tough review for me to writer because it is difficult to remain objective. I love the spirit and attitude of the chef and owner and I feel it would normally sway me to 5 stars. I have decided to be fair and list the plus's and minus's. I have dined here several times and really enjoyed the entire menu. The dishes are authentic, tasty and true to Jamaican home cuisine. My mother's side of the family is from the Caribbean and I grew up with these flavours.Pros: taste, authenticity, great interaction with the owner/chef.Cons: the restaurant appears to be a work in progress. It is evolving with a shared kitchen, odd hours, unconventional service style. Parking can be a drag (anywhere on Prince is ludicrous). Lastly, they often run out of items as they aren't serving on a known scale.Summary, I will continue to dine here and accept the unconventional.
A delicious taste experience. We had jerk chicken, and fried plantain. It was so good, and the service was great. Cant wait to try something else.
Ella's never disappoints. Weather you want spicy hot or maybe just a snack. Everything is fresh and tasty. The Jerk Chicken is terrific!
We really liked the food. I had the jerkked chicken with brown rice and beans. It was very tastey and the chicken was very tender. The rice was great. However, the dish came with just some raw shredded cabbage and carrot. The plate needed something else to make the presentation better and complete the meal. I would suggest adding a real salad or some vegetables. Also, some bread would be nice to sop up the sauce. The owner doubled as cook and server. She was very nice, friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back.
