Ocean Prime Detroit - Troy

This is my favorite restaurant in town! We visited two weeks ago to celebrate a birthday month. Ulysses wasn't our server initially, but he was friendly enough to answer some questions as we debated between the sea bass and the filet. Leo ended up being our server and he was very attentive, taking great care of us. The dynamite roll was amazing and our lunch was excellent as always. You can never go wrong with the filet or the jalapeño au gratin potatoes. The chef even prepared a special vegetable dish for us upon request. The bartender also made fantastic cocktails - a pear fizz for me and a basil smash for my partner, who said it was the best basil smash he's ever had. Keep up the great work, we'll definitely be returning soon!

That was my third experience in the ocean prime and it had become one of my top 3 restaurants. the culinary experience here was always top notch of the minute in which they go through the appetizers and meal to this last cup coffee after the desert. a plus.

I recently had the opportunity to sample their happy hour menu, which includes appetizers, small plates, and specialty cocktails. Ocean Prime's menu features American classics with a modern twist, such as white truffle caviar deviled eggs and Duroc pork chops.

I could be better. It's okay to eat. but in comparison to the price and share it. You could make a lot better elsewhere.

Was a beautiful venue with excellent wait staff and customer service. Anniversary night dinner for myself and wife and she wanted to try something new. Meal presentation was great and the flavor was good. She enjoyed her salad and crab cakes but didn't care for the sauce very much. Lobster mac and cheese was her favorite and I enjoyed the garlic mashed potatoes. They even gave us an Anniversary chocolate medallion on top of our dessert to go. Our waiter was very attentive and polite and presented us with nice warm bread as soon as we were seated. He also presented us with choices and flavors of wine tro try to go along with our meal. The sushi was a little expensive but good-tasting and had a unique presentation with the meat portion outside of the tempura roll as a topping. The only slight disappointment I had was in my steak. It was good but to me it wasn't $52.00 good. At a certain price point my taste buds switch from standard to fancy. It was a very nice cut of meat but at the price point and above I feel like each bite should be enjoyable and tasty. It was ordered medium-well which may have slightly affected the tenderness but the flavor was slightly lacking.
