Przekaż informację zwrotnąThis restaurant has moved to a new location where you can enjoy a visit without worrying about sand and debris commonly found in other restaurants. It is the only restaurant in Kovalam with a working Tandoor oven, which results in delicious food available whenever you desire. We have dined here multiple times and have always been impressed by the high quality of the cuisine. The owner, staff, and chef are all friendly and efficient. While many restaurants have been slow this season due to the pandemic, with travel slowly starting up again, we can all experience the best of what Kerala has to offer.
Its same owner and same cook but restaurant has moved from lovely location to first floor location with no atmosphere. When we visited we were only ones in restaurant. This meant no interaction with others customers which u always had at previous location. We visited twice during this 2 week holiday. Normally we would have visited 5 times. I hope they relocate or customers increase soon. I don't want to loose what is best food in area.
This restaurant was very near our hotel so we visited based on the great reviews. The food was freshly cooked and very tasty and the manager was very friendly. There is a small balcony to sit on but not a great view. The toilets were clean. Unfortunately wine has to be ordered in advance (like at all the non hotel restaurants in the area since western tourists have not yet returned in great numbers) and there were very few customers when we were there. Definitely worth trying though for the great food.
We ate here a couple of times and it was fantastic.It's a little place set back from the beach next door to the KTDC Samudra hotel where we were staying. Highlights were the sear fish pollichathu, marinated in spices wrapped in a banana leaf and cooked in the tandoor. Absolutely delicious. Also the chicken Korai, which I've had in Indian restaurants at home, but this was in a completely different league; so tasty and tender.The menu is pretty extensive and Shivan is on hand to make recommendations and ask you how spicy you would like the dishes. Their tandoor skills are second to none in the area, and I'd say their food is the best we ate.
I was staying next door to this restaurant at the Samudra KTDC in April , returning to the resort after visiting in January/ February . Although most restaurants appeared much quieter due to it being the end of the tourist season Sanjeevini was the exception . Anyone who has been understands why , the host Shiva is an exceptional host , understanding instinctively his customers needs , always ready to advise on the ' catch of the day ' seafood at its best . Superb value , quality and service make this restaurant a must visit if in Kovalam , you won't be disappointed :
