So a classic pub should look: small, cozy and funky. The sandwiches are something from another world, a great choice when they and each of them are made with the utmost care. The prices are incredibly fair as you are in the city centre. In addition, you also have a wide selection of beer, pouring the right way. The staff is friendly and always smiling, respect them and you will be treated like a king/king. Improved!
This was a terrible Irish bar and didn’t live up to their usual reputation. The only positive I could say was that the decor was nice. However, the drinks selection was really poor and they didn’t even serve Guinness (which is surely the point of an Irish bar? . The staff weren’t friendly and complained when we wanted to use the card machine.
Every time I'm in Trieste, I stop by Murphy's. As a regular customer, my impression is that of a manager that has a deep passion and love for his job. That translates into an exceptional beer and gin selection, beautifully prepared food (freshly prepared dishes during lunch, every day the menu seems to change, and equally fresh and tasty sandwiches during the evening), personnel that is extremely prepared and friendly, and a clean, cool environment where to chill out. The relaxed atmosphere, sensible prices and tasty food&drinks always makes me leave Murphy's slightly tipsy, with a full stomach and with a big smile on my face. Bravi!!!
The place is definitely worth 'visiting '. The lunch menu is perfect in number and variety of dishes and the selection of beer is quiete impressive. We had troffie with smoked ricotta cheese, asparagus and speck; greek parmigiana with aubergine, feta cheese and fresh basil; pasticcio with zucchini, basil and some special cheese. There were further options, that we will try next time. We loved the chocolate crepes as a perfect finale of our 'light ' lunch. We found the atmosphere friendly and relaxed. In the evening the menu changes and apparently everything becomes more 'pub-ish ' we feel, in a good way! . So, a nice, easy, friendly place, with good food and drinks. Very good value for money, too.
