I should anticipate that I participated in a set meal for 17, so this may not be indicative of their best cuisine. The appetizer (smoked salmon and swordfish, shrimps, baccalà mantecato) was ok. The first dish was disappointing: while the fish sauce was steaming hot, the underlying pasta (paccheri) was cold and overcooked, and strangely enough it was made of two different kinds of pasta. The second dish was better, a remarkably good sea bass cooked in the oven accompanied by a cauliflower and bitter herbs pasticcio. We were served good local white wine. 3 bullets and a half would be the correct evaluation, if it were possible.
I have dined recently with friends. My friends pre reserved the table and arranged with the maitre 'd to have a homely meal, with the choices at the discretion of the chef. We had a four course meal, with seafood crudo appetizer, a seafood gnochi primi, roast tuna steaks secondi and a fruit salad dessert. The wine was a local white, Friulano (which eons ago used to be called Tokay, but after the European Union intervened the name was changed as the Tokay belongs to the legendary Hungarian dessert wine). The dishes we had were very good the dessert was a bit flat. This is not a haute cuisine place but it gives a good option, with very friendly service. I have eaten here on a number of occasions, and never had a complaint about the seafood; however it is a good idea to consult the maitre 'd or the waitstaff for suggestions. I found their tips useful and reliable.
I was staying nearby and stumbled on this place by chance what a find! Friendly, welcoming ambience, lovely music, some of the nicest calamari I have had; after my meal I was brought, unbidden, a glass of Illy coffee liqueur which really completed the meal. Then I was left undisturbed while I happily worked on my laptop for an hour or so couldn't imagine a nicer work environment (though the liqueur possibly enhanced my mood, if not my work). Great place for a party, judging by the cheerful sounds from the tables next to mine. My only small complaint would be too much oil on the vegetables (which didn't really need oil at all). Would happily come back.
Wonderful family run restaurant with great fresh seafood on a beautiful cozy atmosphere terrace overlooking the sea. Staying at the Hotel Mignon that belongs to it. All stylish shic, simple and reasonably priced.
We wanted go to Tavernetta al Molo, but they was full. Asked waiter there and he recomended us Mignon. It was terrible mistake... We ordered Sea squids. They wasn't fried enough and they was like a chewing gum. Salad was roten. We complained. didn't here any excuse. I don't like it, but If you are hungry, you can go to McDonalds. You'll get better service and better food. We won't came back, for sure
