In fact, we wanted a very beautiful and partly furnished basement from the Roman period in the Roman basement, which is only open if necessary. And in beautiful weather the demand for interior seats was not so high. The cellar was still open to us so that we could visit the large collection of Roman glass to the content of the heart: D The menu is quite extensive and offers, besides Roman dishes (including Apicius, no modern Italian cuisine also a good selection of regional specialties, a decent wine map and various wine tastings at very acceptable prices. I like historical cuisine and found it nice to also get Roman cuisine in the restaurant. Otherwise I have to get there myself, and that's complicated! My husband did not feel so experimental and ordered the Eifeler spit roast, but told me that he wants to drink with green beans on my appetizer (Lukan Sau). The very attentive service seems to have come along; we then got the appetizer served on a plate, there were two small plates and two cutlery: . The sausages were great, there were even enough pine nuts in there! The spit roast was good, but I was a bit happier with my ham in fig sauce. Roman cuisine can be very sweet and is therefore also very rich, but you can also contain residues. I was sharpened with some pepper (it stands on the table). Since the sweet, sharp combinations are no longer so used today, the kitchen is rather held back and lets the guest find his desired condition. On Saturday my husband also joined the Roman courts. The gray soup with bacon is very tidy, the sprinkler was very tasty, the sausages we took again and fortunately I have the recipe for the pear run with honey and pepper at home. Mulsum is a great experience. But diabetics should take an extraampulle insulin. To service: very friendly and attentive, also in high-speed operation. Very coordinated team. It has been fun to observe how large groups of bus charges were fast, competent and chaos-free served a la carte in an amazingly short time. Compliment! Cleanliness: noticeably clean. Behind the tress was always at least one in the wiping; Drink sprayers were removed directly and a falling glass was removed in the windsile. The toilets were also flashy. You should definitely book if you want to come in the evening or weekend. We did this both times; both times was not to find under reservation, but we still have good places. We're coming back!

Recommended by locals this restaurant is right in the center of Trier and is not too touristy. Naturally they have a wide range of local wines and we tried...
Refused to seat us. Only spoke German and from what my friends have said this was on purpose to get you to go away.
We had a great dinner. We loved the different wines and the wine tasting Menues. Food was great, they have a Menue with original Roman dishes. Delicious.
