San Marco - Trier

We were there on June 5th. Lots of people around the Porta Nigra. We sat inside in a comfortable booth. The lady serving us struggled with her English but we were able to get some directions from her and suggestions for our pizza. Food was good and a reasonable price (for Europe). My wife and two teenage daughters were satisfied and that's tough since we are two vegetarians and two carnivores.

Perhaps they were all watching Juventos in the CL Final.For periods there was nobody to be seen to take orders. Simple food, spagetti marinara, took ages to arrive.When it did arrive it consisted of spagetti plus shrivelled up, overcooked (you know when the shrimps get dead small and hard), what looked like the contents of a sea food mix pack, out of the freezer. There was no interest shown by staff, when taking order they were looking round the other tables as if they were waiting for someone to do a runner. No bread offered to keep you going, no big pepper grinding, nor cruets/oil on the table.Utterly dreadful; driven to write my first negative review.

Het eten is zeer matig en niet echt met liefde bereid. Ik vermoed dat de kok alleen ervaring heeft met massa food. De koffie was als afsluiter zeer sterk maar het best van het gehele diner.

San Marco è un'insegna che attira gli italiani, ma la sorpresa è che qui l'italiano stentano a parlarlo, anzi non lo parlano. Tuttavia cucinano bene le specialità locali.Abbiamo assaporato bistecche impanate (ottimo sapore, qualità e cottura) con insalatona mista, patate fritte (ottime) e birra a volontà. Locale pulito, servizio veloce. Consigliato.

Freundlicher Service hat leider die Qualität nicht gehoben. Große Portionen, jedoch mittelmäßiger Pizzabelag und geschmackloser Teig. Tomatensoße war lasch znd reich an Pfeffer. Typisches Touristenlokal...
