Goodoooooooooooo. excellent fish, cured and goose dishes. choose it if you love simplicity, appreciate the good goto but you are not looking for gourmet cuisine “from jacket and stiletto heel”. The environment is family. there is no menu but maria you will snocciola dishes by memory, it is just to choose with the regret of not being able to taste everything. sweets, too. There is little parking, but you can find some places in front of the university or walk up the city (hot salita but you will burn some calories in view of lunch or dinner). Go!
We have been to this little restaurant as friends have told us about it. As a family run restaurant, it serves few dishes a day, the menu probably chosen according to what is freshly available at the market each day. Good food, service ok (we arrived early! . With no writen menu, Maria told us the choices while Antonio took care of the kitchen. Parking in front is available only for few cars, but we parked at the Engineering Faculty down the road.
We've been to Al Parol many times over the last five years. They serve good, fresh seafood in a small, casual environment. We've taken out of town guests there, and they've always been impressed. It's also appropriate for business dinners with just a few people (since the total space is small). We've also taken our young daughters, and if there's nothing on the menu that appeals to a picky 5 year old, the owners have been kind enough to bring a plate of pasta or something else simple. It's a good idea to make a reservation, since the total number of tables is small. Be prepared to listen to the menu, as they don't have a printed card.
Antonio e Maria together since forever even if young people: they own this little trattoria where they serve typical Italian southern food . They come from Puglia and they serve the best clams spaghetti ever if the season is good for clams vongole), squid ink linguine. They have pretty much the same menu but soooo good: appetizers vary from fresh fish to different kinds of cheese grilled with peppers and tomatoes, or their stuffed vegetables such eggplants and artichokes are special So are the shrimp wrapped with zucchini , and the pan breaded mussels..... we love it and we go for different occasions: family or business no matter what..great wine list and great desserts! try it on!!!!
