Weinstube Castor - Treis-Karden

We were very excited to eat in the winery Castor after reading the good reviews about the menu, the wine tasting and the friendly owner, so tried to go here in our first night, but despite the sign that today said open, the door was tightly closed. We thought it was closed on Monday, even if there was no sign, so tonight we tried again to find on Tuesday, although the sign still open today said it was closed again. We were very disappointed and sent an email to the owner.

We had the 5 wine tasting with dinner. Great value, tasty wines. The food was traditional but a refreshing departure from the typical schnitzel and bratwurst you find everywhere else. A homey atmosphere and the owner is especially lovely. This is reflected in the food home cooked with love.

We stayed at the Weinstube Castor for one night during a bike trip along the Moselle and had dinner and breakfast there, too. Our room was huge, bathroom the same. Breakfast was sufficient but could have had some more variety, though dinner was delicious and a great testimony to the owner's culinary talent giving traditional dishes a new modern twist..A very friendly and accommodating hostess in all aspects.

During our wine tour, we stayed in this place for 3 nights. Great location near the center of Treis-Karden. Room was very large with a big bathroom. Good breakfast. Excellent value in the restaurant with very good wines as well, which they produce. Very friendly and helpful owner.

Sehr schöne Winzerstube, die eine gute Auswahl an größeren und kleinen Gerichten anbietet. Das Essen wird mit großer Sorgfalt zubereitet, geschmacklich immer wieder ein Höhepunkt. Wir haben noch nie einen Grund für Beanstandungen gehabt und waren immer sehr zufrieden. Auch das Weinangebot bietet für jeden Geschmack etwas an, die Preise sind absolut in Ordnung.
