There was a very good restaurant where we had dinner twice. The antipasto alone consisted of 15 different types of food which was to die for. The pool was always clean.
Best to visit Baglio Nuovo with a grand appetite, the appetizers alone demand one's full attention. Lots of variety: many old favorites as well as new tastes to savor. The cheeses and pasta are made on the premises as are the desserts--if you have room to enjoy one.
We visited this restaurant last week and we were impressed with both the quality and friendly service the restaurant offers. The food is mostly made out of in house produce. They have their own lamb, cheese, DOP olive oil, fresh pasta, bread, sausage, veg etc... so they take exceptional pride in preparing their food as best they can. Prices are very well balanced and is well below the average price for other similar restaurants in general. Service with a smile. Owner is always on site helping out and this ensures a smooth running service. Owners wife is in the kitchen too. May I recommend the fixed menu which offers 14 different home made appetizers, 3 different pastas (all fresh), mixed grill, fruit salad, sweet desert, coffee (the proper one), a liquor (which I didn't take though) and wine water. All this for 28eur incl. service charge. The only thing that is to perhaps criticise is the fact that since it's in the countryside there are quite a lot of mosquitoes in the air which can disturb diners at times. Other than that thumbs up. I dare say people of the like of Gordon Ramsay or Heston Blumenthal would probably love the genuine food. Visited the restaurant 3 times during our 8 day holiday in Sicily and will not hesitate to visit should we travel again to Sicily in the future.
Food is very good. Sit and eat what they bring you at table. A lot of Antipasti, 3 kind of primo piatti, grilled meat with salad, fruits and typical sweet cappiddruzzi . I 'm very satisfied!
Let me start by saying: you can have a wonderful experience but we obviously did not have. I will explain why. The menu is set which is not a problem but they cannot tell you what you can expect because they do not speak English or any other language than Italian which is fine and understandable. But we said we only wanted the antipasto and the main dish. Our little boy just wanted plain spaghetti with cheese. So in total we had: antipasto,2 mains, a litre of wine, two bottles of water, plain spaghetti, icecream and coke. They charged us for the full menu and we had to pay 72 euro!!! Considering the quality of food (precooked and then microwaved) this was outrageous. For Sicilian standards this is far too much.
