We were recommended to come to this restaurant by a friend and weren't disappointed It was my husbands birthday and we had 9 people attend. There isn't a huge lot of tables and it's quite small but it suited us fine. We were allowed to bring our own wine and glasses etc which was really nice as they don't provide alcoholThe food was superb. Lots of it and very well cooked and presented. Even my fussy vegetarian daughter was happy The service was excellent. Will definitely return and advise others to go. It was very inexpensive also.
I recently dined at a charming, small local restaurant that I had passed by numerous times. I decided to give it a try and I'm glad I did. The owners were welcoming and made us feel at home. The food, cooked to order, was delicious and well worth the wait. We enjoyed the Manto dumplings and the Zereshk Palow chicken dish, both generously portioned. Although we had initially ordered the Qabuli Palow lamb dish, we opted for the chicken as it was still being prepared. We were pleasantly surprised by a complimentary side dish of crispy pastry with a yogurt dip. Overall, the meal was exceptional and we appreciated the owners' efforts to serve a different cuisine. We will definitely return to try more dishes from their menu, which offers a good selection of spices and tastes. The pricing was reasonable and the portions were more than generous. Parking was easy and access was convenient.
We started with a delicious soup and moved on to the shank and Chopan Kebab mains, both of which were incredibly tasty. With a total of ten items on the main menu and five daily specials to choose from, it will take multiple visits to try everything. The dessert and coffee that followed rounded off the dining experience perfectly. The service was friendly, although the food did take a bit longer to arrive, which we took as a positive sign that it was being freshly prepared. Overall, Shamim Afghan Restaurant offers a unique and satisfying dining experience that is worth revisiting. Despite being located on the other side of town, we will definitely be returning. Thank you to Shamim for a fantastic meal – give it a try and you won't be disappointed.
We discovered this one through Scoopon last Tuesday and going back tonight. Amazing food! Simple dishes and the menu has pictures. Food choices are minimal but sufficient. Restaurant is unlicensed but we are still going back as the food is so good (so is the coffee)! Efficient service though continual traffic of customers, and many were obviously regulars. Loads of takeaway orders and single people in to grab a quick dinner. I wasn't sure about the soup form menu description but it was amazing, as was the lamb. The dessert was even more of a standout if this was possible. Website very accurate.
