The O'connell - Tralee

Located in Ballyseede Castle, this romantic dining spot offers a choice of either a two or five course menu. The service is exceptional and the food is sourced locally whenever possible. We opted for the two course menu and were impressed with the prawn/crab cocktail and antipasto plate starters. Our main courses of hake and lamb shank were both flavorful and delicious. Unfortunately, we were too full to try the desserts, but I have no doubt they would have been wonderful.

I had high expectations for the food at this restaurant due to its luxurious room and prime location, but unfortunately, it was only good. Despite being spoiled by exceptional meals in the past, I was hoping for an amazing dining experience at the hotel. The room and atmosphere were absolutely stunning, and while I enjoyed the ambiance, it's a shame that the food wasn't quite up to par.
