We all enjoyed our starters and main courses which we all agreed were out of for quality. One dessert was ordered and it was a delicious...apple pie that was so large that it had to be shared out amongst us. The staff were efficient and polite and from a Covid point of view we felt very safe with all precautions taken. The dining was elegant and inviting and the new bathroom facilities are very smart and trendy looking. Well done The Grand, you never let us down. It's great to be back.
We really enjoyed three separate meals here and kept returning as it was so good! There is a great choice and the atmosphere is so relaxing! Natalie was really helpful and welcoming. Our children were so well catered for also. Will definitely return here on...our next visit to Tralee.
During our staycation, my family and I dined at Samuel's Restaurant on both nights and we were not disappointed. The wide menu offered something for everyone, and Natalie provided excellent service, guiding us on what dishes to order. The food was delicious, expertly cooked, and beautifully presented. We will definitely be returning to Samuel's Restaurant in the future.
Caroline and Jane, the wonderful staff, took great care of us. The food was amazing and we will definitely be back at the hotel soon. Go Dubs! XXX
Dick Boyle has a secret weapon associated with the success of the Grand Hotel's dining room that would be the Kitchen Staff and the Chef. I can honestly say I have never had reason to complain about the quality of the food there. Now,...I might at times become a little tetchy about a delay in the service, or the wrong coffee being served, but when it comes to the quality of the grub it has at least received my GOOD mark, and many times SUPERB gets a tick. I judge a meal's standard not so much by the joint, fish, or fowl being dished up, so much as by the quality, flavour, crispness, freshness, and presentation of the vegetables, sauces etc. The Grand is always grand in that department. Sweets and puddings too are of very good quality. For me one sweet, not always on the menu, stands out above everything else at the Grand and that is the Parfait a speciality of the Chef. I think it is the best I have ever had, a matter of opinion of course, but several others would agree. As I write is causing a lock-down and, for a while at least, I will miss my Lunch at The Grand
