The location used to be a former bank, so it's interesting to see banks being turned into coffee shops. It would be great if Tim Hortons and other places in the North West of England could pay their staff a living wage. The coffee at Tim Hortons is decent, with varying sizes of filter coffee starting at £1.29. However, Starbucks offers a better filter coffee and a better deal with their free refills. While Tim Hortons coffee is better than Greggs, Greggs offers better food deals. There are many other coffee bars within a five-minute walk, such as Cafe Nero, Alexandros, Bianco, Costa, Bean Brush, and the Coffee House, all priced similarly. I find it more affordable to get breakfast at Greggs than at Tim Hortons, although Greggs is not as comfortable to sit in. On my visit to Tim Hortons, I bought mini donuts called Timmies, which were stale and tasted awful. This was my first and last visit to Tim Hortons. The story of Tim Horton's tragic death in 1974, when he flipped his sports car while under the influence of alcohol, adds an interesting layer to the history of the business. His wife later sued his business partner for more money, but ultimately lost the case. Despite the interesting history, my experience at Tim Hortons was not great.
The coffee is delicious and the breakfast options are excellent. The staff put in a lot of effort and deserve praise. This restaurant may attract a younger crowd as it resembles other fast food chains. Overall, it's worth giving it a try.
