The two vegan dishes we tried were delicious. The curry was especially satisfying. It would be helpful if the restaurant specified that they offer vegan options. They even asked us directly if we were vegan or vegetarian.

I am happy to report that KinosakiOnsen has a fantastic vegan meal option that is also affordable. I visited the restaurant twice, once for drinks (mulled wine) and the next day for lunch. Both times, I ordered the vegan beans curry, which was more of a stew but still delicious. It was the perfect choice for a cold winter day. The side salad was also surprisingly tasty. They also offer a daily custom plate for vegans. Additionally, their coffee was surprisingly good.

Kinosakionsen may not have a wide variety of vegan options, especially ones that are not on the pricier side like shojin ryori. However, this cozy restaurant offers a simple and affordable meal option. The chef was very welcoming and accommodating, even preparing some extra dishes to take out when we mentioned how challenging it was to find vegan meals. It's worth noting that the restaurant can be a bit hard to spot despite being at ground level. I would recommend this place if you are visiting Kinosaki! Updated review as of November 6, 2023.

The restaurant is open after 11:00 and it was enjoyable.
