We went here for lunch with our daughter after having had baguette for several lunches. The interior is light and open even if it is small. We had a childs menue for our daughter (pasta with bolognese sauce) and each a gratin with different toppings. The food tasted very good, the service was friendly and fast even if we couldn't speak any french. The prices are resonable even for a quick lunch and the food is definitely worth the money.
We were looking for a simple meal and this provided great simple fare. I had a delicious entrecôte frites and my wife had a generous and excellent hamburger frites. Our friends had a large "salade Cleopatra" (chefs salad with fish) and a dish of cheesed potatoes with bacon chunks and each one was happy with his/her selection. We would definitely go back.
On a cold, windy day, we stopped here for lunch. Immediately warmed by the greeting and atmosphere. Planning on a light lunch but wanting to be warmed, we chose a salad with hot ingredients. We were surprised, pleased and warmed by the result! A fluffy potato topping with lardons and goats cheese with crispy lettuce underneath! Delicious accompanied with a glass of the local Chinon red wine. Service was pleasant and quick and we left fortified to carry on with shopping.
The cheerful and welcoming staff, attentive service and wonderful food made for a superb first dining experience in Tours. Second and third time back did not diminish the first impression. Unlike the Parisians, the Tourainians are most forgiving of language errors and are most hospitable .. indeed, this was the case at Les Farfardets!
