Le Vieux Comptoir - Tours

According to the poster on the door, the restaurant is closed July and August for work, and will reopen in September, with change of owners.

Service is slow, the menu limited, but it's a perfectly pleasant and reasonably priced place for dinner in the centre of tours. We appeared to be the only non-French folk there..... always a good sign!

What more, this Sunday of Mother's Day, we went to lunch at the old counter, and the chef is always at the top, the quality of the products is there, and the know how to do it too. A small flat, it would be nice if the wine glasses were changed between the soft white and the rosé. Except for this little forget, no reproach for our lunch. In summary, don't hesitate, it is among the best in terms of quality / price in the vicinity of the plumereau square.

A small restaurant decorated with a very nice cork style. the reception by the mistress of the places is warm and relaxed. The service is impeccable. the dishes offered range from the traditional cuisine of the centre to the sweet/salé dishes: the lamb ris is succulent; brief: an excellent value for money.

House kitchen, of course, of correct quality. On the other hand, the cooking of meats is absolutely not respected. a blue meat coming to a point and a semi-swed meat. The accompaniment is minimalist, yet we are small eaters. Idem for dessert. I don't recommend it without disavowing it.
